"Well the frost is on the pumpkin, and the hay is in the barn. . ." James Taylor is almost right, the pumpkins will be frosted by morning. When the cold front blew through last night, it decided it was time to finish up the harvest. Winds took down the corn and knocked over the citrus trees (gotta put them in tonight) and had to re-pot them. It's only gotten up to 50 today, but last night, as the front came through, it was warm, 69, at 2 am and I stood outside and let the powerful wind blow through me. It reminded me of the night breeze from our trip to the keys last winter. Indian summer aside, there will be few of those breezes left before the cold begins to take hold for winters turn at us.
The other great sign of Fall is the new TV Lineup! Cable has wrapped up some seasons with SG-1, SG Atlantis and Battlestar Galactica. All very good, the last was exceptional. I have also gotten interested in Firefly, a series from the creator of Buffy and Angel. SciFi has been running the series as a promotion for the upcoming Serentiy movie, and it's worked in my case. Rome is great and still on going on HBO, Showtime has Weeds, a couple good moments, but pretty dissapointing overall. As for what's new, it has been a pretty interesting season so far. Still trying to find some of my shows that have moved around and there are quite a few times when there is more than one thing on I would like to watch. That hasn't happened in a long time. So, what I have caught and like so far this season is, LOST, CSI Miami, CSI, NCIS (see a trend here?) Law & Order, all flavors, Boston Legal, House M.D., West Wing, Family Guy. And the best remake this season is the Science Channel running Carl Sagan's Cosmos, with updates, new images and computer graphics. I am adding it to my video library.
So what are you watching this fall?
I find myself watching a lot of WB shows which I started watching because I like to watch all the cute young guys. I still watch Seventh Heaven. You know how everyone has a show that you're embarrassed to admit you watch. Well, that's mine.
I really enjoy The Amazing Race. Very much like the road rallies we have participated in over the years. Of course, Survivor is still a reality show I enjoy, but it has declined in the past couple seasons in my opinion.
Boston Legal, Law & Order:SVU, and West Wing are good quality shows that I enjoy. Bad news, though, when I heard the character of Toby is leaving the West Wing.
Oh, and don't forget - Dr. Phil. If I'm going to talk about what I watch on tv I have to get real.
